Migrant workers are the significant constructors in the urbanization process, and they are also a large and special group in the city. The process of Human Urbanization is just the process for villagers to transfer to cities. In this process, as the pioneer and practitioners, with their own exploration and endeavor, Migrant workers have promoted China's urbanization process in the process of region, occupation and identity transfer. Based on this, every year, CIUDSRC appraises and elects  China,s Urbanization Outstanding Migrant workersto award those excellent Migrant workers who have made outstanding contributions in their ordinary positions.

　　On April 30, 2014 China,s Urbanization Outstanding Migrant workers has been announced in The Eighth China Urbanization International Summit, eight migrant workers : Zhang Dong, Huang Qingguo, Yang Yang, Huang Jiang, Shi Rundong, Jia Zhongyuan and Zhang Lingyan were elected as the outstanding migrant workers. And the award presenters were Lai Wenxin, President of Chinese Cross-strait Peace Development Association, Deputy Director of CIUDRC and Lyna from Training and Development Department of France's National Civil Service Training Center, and they have issued the trophies and certificates to the winners. And this session was hosted by Zhang Youyun, Deputy Director of CIUDSRC,  Executive Deputy President of China Association for Employment Promotion and Member of China Economic and Social Council.

　　Zhang Dong : Bright Days Finally Came after the Miseries

　　Identity: Vice General Manager of Wuzhou Media Center, Shidian Media

　　Native place: An hui Province

　　Value: Zhang Dong left campus at the age of 15 because of his heavily sick father  and his poor family, and took the responsibility to support the whole family. At the construction site, he earned the first  tiny wages in his life. The turbulent experience in his early ages has brought him unique life experience, and the zealous love for writing has been the driving force that supported him to keep forward. In 1994, Zhang Dong became an ordinary journalist of Nanfang Daily. Later, his outstanding capability in writing made him chief editor of “Economics Letters”, chief editor of “ Legal Daily·Guangdong” and director of public affairs department in “South Metropolis Daily”, to name but a few. In 1998, he founded the “Outsider” cultural communications Co.,Ltd. In 2012, the biographical essay “Outsider” was published, and it was written by Zhang Dong in accordance with his own experience; and currently, the TV series setting the essay as the chief resource is being prepared to shoot. The “Outsider” has recorded the life experience of Zhang Dong as well as the colorful life and inner world of the peasant- workers’.

　　Comment: During the 26 years of “staying outside”, Zhang Dong has gone through the period from being a rural youth with junior high school education background to having become an outstanding intellectual and entrepreneur, his experience could be concluded as “Bright days finally came after the miseries”. There must have been numerous obstacles and difficulties during those days, however, he just insisted on and conquered them one by one, and finally, he was able to succeed in the city. As a media figure, Zhang Dong hopes to influence more people with his own experience and“The youth nowadays have forgotten their memories about poverty and the persistence to struggle. Therefore, I want to tell the youth generation how to inherit the spirits of the pioneers and make greater contributions to realize the goal of Chinese Dream in modern China!”, said Zhang Dong.

　　Chen Lisheng ：Promote Employment by Means of Establishing a Business

　　Value: Chen Lisheng, aging over 30 years old, has strived in Beijing for more than 20 years. In 1992,  21-year-old Chen Lisheng came to Beijing and he has tried various kinds of positions. In 2000, he established his own enterprise —— Beijing Yuezhimian Industrial and Commercial Co., Ltd. and became the general manager, realizing the identity transformation from an ordinary farmer to a private entrepreneur. There were pains and gains in his entrepreneurial stage, and nowadays, Chen Lisheng’s enterprise has expanded to two paying almost 3 million yuan taxes to China, and each year, nearly 50 positions have been provided. Referring to his contributions to the urbanization process, Chen Lisheng believed that economic contributions and commonweal values were of equal importance; and his enterprise has been selected as the integrity corporation by the Disabled Committee of Beijing government as well the Enterprise Full of Compassion by Yiren Publie  Welfare Foundation.

　　Comment: Having created 50 positions only by himself, Chen Lisheng not only realized his own dreams, but also helped more individuals to realize their dreams. Although he has got possessed of career and achievement, he still remembered his origin. While accepting the award, he sincerely said,“I，m the son of farmer’s, a real and honest farmer”, which demonstrated the special pure temperament and characteristics of farmers’ that he did not lose throughout the struggle of more than 20 years.

　　Huang Qingguo: From Struggling in Beijing by Himself to Joining

　　Hands with Public Welfare

　　Value: When he was just 15 years old, Huang Qingguo came to Beijing all by himself with only 500 yuan. In 1992, Huang Qingguo just graduated from junior high school and left home, coming to Beijng, his dream city to struggle for life on his own. At his initial stage entering the society, his first job was to be a street vendor at Qianmen. And after  four years, he was able to transfer to Beijing Animal Zoo Wholesale Market with his earnings and he has been a little successful in this big city. After 2000, the nation encouraged and supported individual management, so the salutation of Huang Qingguo has changed from “Mr. Huang” to “Boss Huang”. Until 2011, the labor of almost 20 years has got rewarded, with the establishment of “Beijing Huang’s  Trade Co., Ltd.”, Huang Qingguo has become the popular “CEO Huang”.

　　While adhering to work on his clothing field, Huang Qingguo also grasped the opportunity of the prosperously developing field of real estate, and he regarded real estate and clothing as the two major oriented projects of his career. So far, Beijing Huang’s Trade Co., Ltd. has owned real estate projects like “Century City“and promoted casual brands like “MENSHARK”, and with scientific and effective management methods, he quickly established the sales channel of wholesale products.  The “capital dream” realized throughout 20 years may be the glory after the great success, but it is the pains and sweats that only Huang Qingguo could understand.

　　Now, successful Huang Qingguo did not forget his fellow countrymen: “the Huang’s Pastoral Scholarship” established by him donates 100,000 yuan to Anhui Lujiang Baishan Junior High School each year. Besides, Huang Qingguo also supported his company to participate various public benefit activities and on each holiday and festival, together his stuff, he would go to gerocomium to visit and warm the seniors.

　　Comment: Having struggled for almost 20 years, the“Capital Dream”of Huang Guoqing’s finally realized. He has suffered a lot throughout all this way, but he still contributed to the society with his gratitude, supporting the education and joining hands with the public welfare with his income. What Huang Qingguo has done helped thousands of rural students with the “Urban Dream”, and his experience has given hopes to all the rural people with dreams.

　　Yang Yang:Little Happiness and Great Love

　　Value: Yang Yang, 25 five years old, born in Zhangmiao Village, Quzi Town, Lingcheng Region, Dezhou City, Shandong  Province, was a rural child yearning for urban life. In 2006, when she graduated from technical secondary school, with the beautiful urban dream, she came to Shanghai and started with the typing work. She has witnessed the excellent Shanghai she imagined and at the same time, she also felt helpless because things were going beyond her imagination. She did not feel enriched and happy in Shanghai, the prosperous city, and the feeling of loneliness and upheaval forced her to leave Shanghai eventually. In 2013, when Yang Yang got to know the recruiting information of  Jingjin Environmental Stock Co., Ltd. in her hometown, she just returned her hometown with her husband, becoming an ordinary worker in Dezhou Economic Development Zone. Although Yangyang did not realize her“Urban Dream”in Shanghai, she made it true in Dezhou Economic Development Zone. She worked hard with her husband and the annual income of her family has reached nearly 200,000 yuan. In the early 2014, they bought a house with two bedrooms and one dinning room as well as a private car. She has settled here and become the “New Citizen” in Dezhou Economic Zone.

　　On June 24, 2014, National Premiere Li Keqiang went to Jingjin and inspected. And it was Yang Yang’s luck to have met Premiere Li, and it is totally beyond her imagination. While talking with Premiere Li, Yang Yang recalled her experience of growing into a “New Citizen”from a rural child. And the dream once so far away has been grasped by her. As one of the members who chased their dreams and endeavored to explore the wonderful life, Yang Yang really appreciated her corporation and the times she was living. 　　Comment:Yang Yang’s feeling has represented that of the numerous“New Citizens” who tried to create happy lives in the urbanization trend. At the awarding ceremony, on behalf of the farmers, Yang Yang has expressed her appreciation to the times and the government. She said, “on behalf of the 2,500 peasant workers in my corporation, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the government for its care and support for us, and to my corporation for its help for us. And I will make great contributions to the society with my own effort. I firmly believe that the future of our peasant workers’ will be better and better!”

　　Huang Jiang：Gains Will Come after Pains

　　Identity: member of Engineering section of Wuchang Municipal Engineering Corporation in Wuchang, Grade II municipal and house building constructor

　　Native place: Hubei Province

　　Value: He is diligent and has got certificates like qualification of cost members in national construction engineer, qualification of construction project establishment, Grade II municipal and house building constructor. And his hobbies are various, he has won in the competition of comprehensive knowledge about quality management and security check, and the competition of project measure, closing measure, photographing and basketball. He is also kind-hearted, and he has got the certificates of “First Aid” of “the Red Cross in China”and “Blood Donation”. He is the guy called Huang Jiang from Sichuan Province.

　　In November 1989, Huang Jiang was born in an ordinary farm household in Liangshan. Sichuan, In 2011, Huang Jiang came to Hubei Wuchang Municipal Project Corporation and became a member of the Construction Department. Although working at initial level, he still tried his best to accomplish his task with his hard-working and positive attitude: in the comprehensive renovation project of Luoshagang, Shahugang, he was always the first to the construction site and in the evening, he would check each project; he was strict with the construction quality, and the projects he was responsible for were highly appreciated by the constructors and related departments. In his spare time, he seized every opportunity to improve himself and help others. He voluntarily took part in various activities like “the memorial day of learning from Lei Feng on March 5 ”, “the voluntary donation day of party members’”, and he also donated money and articles to vulnerable groups like the handicapped, groups in unfavorable situation, seniors without family, and Red Army soldiers; coming from rural areas, he paid close attention to the agricultural development and learned agricultural techniques like grafting and greenhouse planting. Meanwhile, he also spared some time to bring the agricultural policies and technologies he has learned back to Daliangshan  and tried his best to help others in his hometown. With his help, people in his hometown have built up vegetable greenhouses, established agricultural cooperatives as well as planted the organic green cucumber growing up in the air... “Money is really significant, but helping others makes me more enriched in my inner world,”said Huang Jiang.

　　Comment: The excellent quality of Huang Jiang’s represented the qualities peasant-workers’ in new generation under the background of urbanization; he has gained a successful career as well as the appreciation from others by always being ready to help others. At the award ceremony, Huang Jiang proudly said, “Although we came from rural areas, the living conditions we have created throughout our efforts are as great as that of the urban people’s. So far, rural population accounted for a large proportion of the whole, therefore, more rural people like us need to flow into the cities to promote urbanization construction. I hope that throughout the joint-hand efforts of people and government, the dual structure of rural and urban areas could be broken through, and the mutual utilization of social security and accumulation funds could be realized, so that we could better live in the urban areas and make greater contributions to the urbanization process.”

　　Shi Rundong:“Double Identity” Combined with Farmer and Singer

　　Identiry: Farmer singer from Shuanghe Village, Guoyuan Town,  Changsha County, Hunan Province

　　Native place: Hu nan Province

　　Value:  Shi Rundong, born in 1966, was a farmer from Shuanghe Village, Guoyuan Town, Changsha County, Hunan Province, and he has been awarded as the advanced worker several times by Changsha government. Literary and artistic activities were the major parts in Shi Rundong’s life: he started a band with his fellow workers, organized the Han cultural art group in Litian, and he also ran the training classes on Erhu, drum and dance, which has provided the platform for peasant-workers’ and rural children to learn arts.

　　In 2011, Xunlonghe, Shuanghe Village, Guoyuan Town,  Changsha County, Hunan Province  has become the urbanization trial site. In 2012, with the leadership of Shi Rundong, the Xunlonghe Cultural Art Group came into being and he led the group to deliver free shows to schools, communities, and gerocomium.  The art show of Shi Rundong was not only popular among the local masses, but also appreciated by professionals and Taiwan compatriots. In 2013, the program called “Ode of Xunlonghe” got the first prize on its originality and action respectively; in 2014, his original program ”Stop  the Bridal Sedan Chair ” was awarded as the first prize of Exhibition show and the Changsha original program, and on behalf of Changsha, they took part in the cultural show in the range of Hunan Province; the program named “Beautiful Feet”was invited to participate the cultural exchange in Taiwan and was popular among Taiwan compatriots; while taking part in the provincial cultural technique competition in Changde, his dance “Auntie Liu LOL”got the second prize on the provincial level; and for his excellent performance as a match-maker in “Stop the Bridal Sedan Chair”, Shi Rundong was named as “the first match-maker in Hunan Province”... This year, he has also accomplished the creation of Changsha Tanci (storytelling to the accompaniment of stringed instruments) ”Legend of Xunlonghe”, and his song “There Was a Xunlonghe in My Hometown” is going to meet the public--- the cultural creation in his hometown not only enriched the lives of people in his hometown, but also has shown his love to his hometown and life.

　　Comment: From the identity of farmer to rural artist, Shi Rundong’s art and creation experience has represented the youth generation with passion for life and they could extract passion from the trivial daily affairs. His art creation has beautified the peasant-worker group in the urbanization process. Shi Rundong’s creations have been awarded, which may encourage more peasant-workers to develop their talents to enrich and vitalize the city.

　　Jia Zhongyuan:“My heart is Getting Closer and Closer to the

　　Identity: Project principal of Youth Ada Tam in the New Area of Longhua

　　Native place: Henan Province

　　Value:  In 1986, Jia Zhongyuan was born in Guangshan County, Henan Province. In 2005,  from the college dropout, he came to Shenzhen with his sister to become an ordinary material handler at a wire manufacturer in Henggang. In 2007, after he got access to the public institution called Little Grass Home for Fellow Workers, Jia Zhongyuan immediately decided to join them. Since 2009, Jia Zhongyuan has joined the Labour NGO and youth Ada Tam, and worked on the operations of public projects.

　　Public welfare is not only Jia Zhongyuan’s work, but also an indispensable part in his life. In his spare time, in Dongguan and Shenzhen, Jia Zhongyuan started the public activities called  Advocacy for HBV Carriers’ Rights, with the identity of the starter of the public welfare activity called Hepatitis B Carriers Seeking for Companions to Dine Together  in order to call on public attention for vulnerable groups.

　　Review his own journey accompanied by public welfare all the way, Jia Zhongyuan said,”Labor NGO is the start point of my career on public service, and it is also where my view of the world, of the values have remodeled, By the constant involvement in labor issues, I realized that in our society, there are a lot of imperfections, and I also understand my own direction.

　　Comment:   Public life brings Jia Zhongyuan different perspectives to view the world, and he has got more opportunities to help others. However, while talking about his own actions, Jia Zhongyuan did not think he has made a great achievement, The only proud thing is I am sticking to help others within my capability. And I’m getting closer and closer to labors. - This passion of working for the public, being willing to be altruistic enthusiasm, and calm, positive energy pristine quality of the communication, may be the largest capital for these young people from rural areas in the wave of urbanization to create a better life.

　　Zhang Lingyan:Public Interest has Changed Her Destiny

　　Identity: General Director of Glowworm Information Advisory Center in Shenzhen

　　Native place: Hebei Province

　　Value:  Born in 1984 in Qichun County, Hubei Province, Zhang Lingyan, had an involuntary experience. In 2000, she graduated from a technical secondary school in Huanggang, majoring in electronics , and was sent to “intern” together with her classmates in an electronics factory in Baoan ,Shenzhen - at her golden age, but day after day, she worked on the assembly line, getting the meager salaries , and life was simple. Numerous grievance derived from the huge gap. In 2002, Zhang Lingyan came across public welfare. In public institutions of mobile library vehicle, Zhang Lingyan realized her university dream. In  2004, Zhang Lingyan became a full-time staff in Little Grass Home for Fellow-workers in Shenzhen public institutions, and from then on, she officially joined in the public welfare. Little Grass is a non-profit organization aiming at enriching workers’ amateur life, promoting  legal knowledge, and developing friendship and mutual assistance among peasant workers. Here, Zhang Lingyan dealt with everything with diligent attitudes. Gradually, she changed from a low self-esteem, and confused little girl, into an Iron Lady”who is optimistic and  self-confident, and she is able to work independently.

　　Today, Zhang Lingyan has become a member of “Glowworm Information Advisory Center in Shenzhen”. In the process of  public services, Zhang Lingyan always adhered to her original kind heart and the concept of serving millions of ordinary workers, and finally, she realized her own value in the process of helping others.

　　Comment:  Zhang Lingyan has been changed by public welfare, and she has also been making her own contributions to public welfare with her actions. According to Zhang Lingyan, what she has done is “just what we think necessary --- powering the vulnerable and motivating the pessimistic”. In this way, our fellow workers could realize their own values and seek for self-esteem while struggling in the city. Zhang Lingyan has represented the unique group in the city who have been seeking their own values and the positive spiritual outlook of farmers in the new generation.
