“The Eighth China Urbanization International Summit”has come to an end with a great success. As this conference has gathered domestic elites from fields of politics and commerce, practitioners from grass roots and migrant workers, what would people from all walks of life evaluate it? And what are their expectations? Therefore, Urbanization magazine interviewed some of the participants, and let’s share their opinions.
Wang Bingchen: Senior Adviser of the State Council, Deputy Director of CIUDRSC
Wang Bingchen: Senior Adviser of the State Council, Deputy Director of CIUDRSC
I think this summit has been extremely successful and it is mainly reflected in relatively symmetrical proportion of China and foreign guests in attendance and they all participated in the discussion, talking about their recognition, experience, the contents of the communication were very sufficient. In addition, the cases were presented relatively well and lively, which was able to solve some problems, and it's beyond my expectation. In particular, the atmosphere was very active and all these has shown that preparations for the conference were perfect.
Shi Haoquan: Special Counselor of Dezhou Municipal Government, Shandong, and Director of Dezhou Small Town Research Center
The conference is very excellent and influential. To begin with, the themes were perfectly selected. How to use the land and how to make good use of it are very important issues in the process of urbanization. This involves the following aspects: Firstly, how to improve the efficiency of promoting the urbanization development; Secondly, how to save more lands; Thirdly, in the township, the current land issue has become a constraint to urbanization development. In addition, the standard of the conference is high, deputy ministers from two ministries attended the conference, and Deputy Minister of Land and Resources Hu Cunzhi also delivered a keynote speech, his speech was very enlightening. What's more, the conference atmosphere was very warm. Particularly some foreign experts' views, such as the case of Lyon showed us how to conserve lands, and it offered reference to promote urbanization; there was a foreign expert talking about providing good education with the Internet, and this is a very important aspect that actually led a healthy urbanization development. Last but not least, the surroundings of the conference were excellent and Li Jinkui's performance as a host was brilliant.
Juergen Ritter : Director of the Second Round of China-Europe Policy Dialogue Support Project
From such an international conference, it is clear that urbanization is a very popular topic of concern in China. Two deputy ministers of China's ministries have attlended the conference, and it also shows that the urbanization process could not be dealt with by only one department. In addition, I saw that CCUD of the National Development and Reform Committee also participated in the conference, and it further indicates that this is a multi-agency conference, which is a very good sign. The contents of the cases also left me a deep impression, and they were very detailed and excellent. The discussion session was arranged, so that some international figures could comment from different perspectives. And I think the content arrangement was really desirable.
Zhang Yinghong: Researcher of Beijing Rural Economic Research Center and Doctor of Laws
China's urbanization will influence both China and the world, because China's urbanization is one of the two events influencing the 21st century. It is clear that “China Urbanization International Summit” could promote the healthy and sustainable development of China’s urbanization by means of establishing platform, finding typical cases and increasing the values and it could be problem-oriented to promote the problems solved. For this conference, I think that: Firstly, the two significant aspects of urbanization are people and lands. And it is really important for this conference to focus on land, the key point of urbanization. Secondly, their visions were very wide, and it is open to the globe, with many scholars on the international level participating and discussing; and there were grassroots practitioners from China. Taking two aspects into account is the important feature of this conference. Thirdly, professionalization. Many participants are in the frontier field of urbanization, such as Dang Guoying, Yu Jianrong, Cai Jiming, Li Jinkui etc., are influential scholars. Fourthly, the conference organization services are considerate. I particularly appreciate Mr. Li Jinkui for his professional, flexible, wonderful and classic words. In the intense discussion section of case study, it is awesome that he could always respond flexibly.
Wang Lili: Director of Equipment Set Research and Development Center of China Urban Construction Institute, Deputy President and Professor Senior Engineer of Design Institute of Environmental Health Engineering
The topic of this conference is“New-type Urbanization and Land Utilization”. As for urbanization, land as well as city amemity and environmental sanitation are a part of new urbanization. Land reform as well as amenity and sanitation have just started, and in the process, different cities should adjust the measures to local conditions combining the reality on the aspect of project and the contributions. Generally speaking, I think this conference is very rich in contents with a wide range, and the conference is of high standard. working in the field of sanitating, this is my goal. Environmental Sanitation Special Committee, as one of the members of committees in CIUDSRC, we will strive to run on top! In short, this conference has made great contributions to China and the industry.
Xu Jianzhou: CEO of Lianzhou International Credit Assessment Co.,Ltd
It is awesome for the conference to have invited two deputy ministers of national Ministries. Besides, numerous famous professors and scholars were also invited to participate the conference, showing that the capacity of CIUDSRC is really strong. The keynote speeches delivered by Deputy Minister Hu Cunzhi and other experts are really great, but more international elites and leaders in the field of commerce might have been attracted, like the Asian Financial Forum, if issues about rural urbanization had been further improved, and institutes had been introduced like Asian International Credit Assessment Institute.
Yu Guihong: CEO of Runtu Consulting Zhuangda Commercial Co.,Ltd
I think that this conference is really professional and the exchanged cases are mature enough, so our urbanization could learn much from it. I hope in the future, there will be more enterprises participating and more cases to develop enterprises could be discussed in the conference.
Zhang Dong: Vice General Manager of Wuzhou Communication Center of the Information Office of the Stale Council
I think this conference is of high standard and the preparation work has been exquisite. The participants were very active and thought highly of it. I should say that the conference has satisfied the leaders, been highly appreciated by the participants and its social impact is widespread.
Sun Qichang: CEO and President of Beijing Xiaixi Construction and Design Institute, National First-class Registered Architect
I feel that the standpoint of the conference is very high. And the conference theme fits the background of China well, especially the background of the integration of Beijing-Tianjin-Heibei Region. Secondly, it could be seen that several key leaders’ and guests’ speeches were well prepared, and it is worth participants’ careful study. There are also some good cases, and they are professional enough to be shown in the form of thematic salons.
Wang Tianqi: Bojiete (Beijing) Construction and Design Consultant Co.,Ltd.
In this conference, two officials from the United Nations Development Programme have delivered their views on China's whole future urbanization development. And at the same time, a number of officials and professionals in the field of domestic urbanization have also expressed their views, like the view of Jin Dejun’s, who is the former Chief Engineer of MOC, Director of CIUDSRC. They all talked about that although we developed rapidly, we should consider how to better ensure the development quality on the basis of rapid development. In particular, the Deputy Minister Hu Cunzhi also spoke of how could buildings in Hong Kong kept in good order in urban and rural areas with that height and large population density. This is what we do not think deeply before, and in this conference, I've got a lot of useful information.
